US sanctions on two Houthi leaders.. Who are they?

The United States, on Tuesday, imposed sanctions on two military leaders in the Iran-backed Houthi rebel militia, accusing them of prolonging the war in Yemen and exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.

The US Treasury Department said in a statement that it had blacklisted the Chief of Staff of the Naval Forces of the Houthi militias, Mansour Al-Saadi, and the Commander of the Yemeni Air Forces and Air Defense Forces allied with the Houthis, Ahmed Ali Ahsan Al-Hamzi.

Office of Foreign Assets Control Director Andrea Jacki said in the statement: “The United States condemns the destruction of civilian sites by the two Houthi fighters mentioned today. These two individuals lead forces that are further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in Yemen.”
