The European Union included the Houthi group on its blacklist.
The Union indicated that this measure came after the Houthis carried out attacks against civilians and infrastructure in Yemen, practiced sexual violence against women, recruited and used children, planted mines and explosive devices in random ways, attacked ships, and threatened international navigation in the Red Sea.
p>According to this step, the Union decided to freeze the assets of the Houthi group and prohibit providing it with financing. For its part, the Yemeni Foreign Ministry welcomed the European Union's decision to include the Houthi group on the blacklist among the groups subject to sanctions, due to its threat to peace, security and stability in Yemen.
It is noteworthy that the European Union blacklist was drawn up, in 2014, under sanctions targeting the war in Yemen.
